Poladhavan is one of the most successful films in Dhanush's career. The film also marked the debut of national award winning director Vetrimaran. The film set in North Chennai released in 2007 and remains one of the best commercial flicks made in Tamil cinema. Now the film has wooed the people in Bollywood that it is going to be remade in Hindi by Shekar Suri.
Titled as Guns of Benares the remake venture will have Karan Nath playing the lead role. Talented actor Ganesh Venkatraman who still struggles to make it big in Kollywood is making is debut in India's richers film industry with this film, reprising the role done by Daniel Balaji in Tamil. While Sohali Sen will be setting the tunes, the team is in talks with G.V.Prakash, the Music director of the original, for the background Score of its remake.
