Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has now become the highest paid actor on TV by charging a whopping £500,000 per episode to host the latest season of the reality show, Bigg Boss 7. The actor has reportedly charged £13m for 26 episodes of the show. Bollywood stars are well known for the exorbitant sums they charge for appearing on TV. Aamir Khan
Show: Satyamev Jayate
Aamir Khan charged £300,000 per episode for his debut show on TV in 2012, the socially relevant, Satyamev Jayate. The show revived the yesteryears primetime slot of Indian television - Sunday morning. The show, hosted by Khan, looked at various social issues in India.
 
Amitabh Bachchan
Show: KBC, Season 7
Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), the Indian adaptation of the popular US show, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, was responsible for resurrecting the then-fading superstar Amitabh Bachchan's career and stardom. Bachchan got paid a meagre £25,000 per episode for hosting the first season of the show. The show's host now commands anywhere between £350-500,000 per episode for the latest season.
 
Shahrukh Khan
Show: Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout
Shahrukh Khan may be currently ruling the big screen box office but, on TV however, he has not been able to strike it rich. He tried his hand at three reality shows, KBC Season 3, Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? (Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader) and Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout. In 2011, he charged £250,000 for Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout, an Indian adaptation of the American reality show Wipeout.
 
Hrithik Roshan
Show: Just Dance
Hrithik Roshan, currently riding high on the success of his Krrish 3, charged £200,000 per episode to appear as a judge on the reality show, Just Dance. While the cost of the show was rumoured to be £400,000 per episode, 50% of it was attributed to the fee Roshan charged.
