With some seductive moments with Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah in the film, she surely gave other B-town babes, a run for their money. Now Abhishek Chaubey, who directed Ishqiya is making a sequel of the film. The title of the sequel is Dedh Ishqiya and Madhuri Dixit has replaced Vidya Balan to play the female lead in the sequel.

 

 

However, Vishal Bhardwaj who is the producer of Dedh Ishqiya has said that Madhuri was the original choice for Dedh Ishqiya. Vishal was in touch with the dhak dhak girl for the role even before she had shifted back to India from USA. Director Abhishek Chaubey narrated the story to her once she relocated to Mumbai. “It was a role written exclusively for Madhuri. She plays the Begum. Vidya’s character had nothing left in it to take the story forward. So there was no way that I could’ve included her in Dedh Ishqiya.”, said Abhishek in a recent interview.
