A Mumbai court on Thursday issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against actress-turned-filmmaker Preity Zinta for failing to appear before it in a cheque bounce case despite its repeated orders. An Andheri court issued the warrant against the actor as she failed to abide by its latest order asking her to appear before it on Thursday. Earlier, on Wednesday, the court had imposed a fine of Rs.5,000 on her for failing to appear before it in connection with the case.
During a previous hearing, the court had imposed a fine of Rs.2,000, which she had paid. It was the fourth time that the actress ignored the court order in the case pertaining to the bouncing of Rs.18.9 lakh cheque issued to screenwriter Abbas Tyrewala for writing dialogues for one of her films.
