Akshay Kumar, the undisputed ‘Khiladi of Bollywood’ turns 46 today. Akshay began his Bollywood career back in 1990’s when he starred in some action films. He was known for his appearance in the Khiladi series. After 12 years, he reclaimed his Khiladi title with Khiladi 786. If sources are to be believed, the actor will ring in his birthday in Maldives along with family and friends. This will be the actor’s first birthday after he became a father again last year. Apart from action, Akshay also explored other genres like comedy, romance and drama. He was praised for his romantic performances in Dhadkan and Namastey London as well as for his dramatic performance in Waqt: The race against time and Patiala House. In 2008, the University of Windsor conferred Honorary Doctorate of Law on Akshay in recognition of his contribution to Indian cinema. In 2009, Akshay founded the Hari Om Entertainment production company. Later, he was awarded with the Padma Shri. Akshay Kumar was also known as the Casanova of 90’s. Keeping aside the rest, he dated Shilpa Shetty and Raveena Tandon. The love story of Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon was the headlines of all the leading newspapers in 1990’s. The tale from reel to real has been one of the most dramatic Bollywood love stories. During the shooting of the film Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, his link-up rumors with actor Rekha surfaced. The entire episode irked Raveena who later said that she is not committed to Akshay.

Later, Akshay worked together with Shilpa Shetty in Main Khiladi Tu Anari but it is believed that while they were shooting for ‘Dhadkan’, Akshay started dating Twinkle Khanna. After all the twisted love affairs, Akshay Kumar is now happily married to Twinkle Khanna and has 2 children, son Aarav and daughter Nitara. Akshay will be back on the silver screen with ‘Boss’ directed by Anthony D'Souza, who had earlier directed Blue (2009). The film will be produced by Cape of Good Films & Ashwin Varde Productions.
