This has been a year of controversies and postponement, and the latest to be caught in the jinx is the Vishal starrer 'Madha Gaja Raja'. The hex began way back, with a lot of confusion in casting. What began as a confusion in picking the right one to do the role, director Sundar C's 'Madha Gaja Raja' has so far been under a lot of trouble, getting shelved at every stage for a new reason.The film's theatrical teaser was launched along with 'Podaa Podi', last Diwali and was expected to hit the screens for Pongal this year. But that had to be postponed, as actor Vishal's first release for the year, 'Samar', clashed with the January release of MGR. Further down the year, the team had to face other issues, and they have been deftly ironing them out, making their way for worldwide release today.

The film is produced by Gemini Film Circuit, and was later acquired by Vishal Film Factory for distribution. Just at the fag end, a serious financial issue has cropped up, blocking the release of the movie. Now we hear that 'Madha Gaja Raja' (MGR) and its Telugu dubbed version 'Nataraja Thaney Raja' (NTR) are postponed indefinitely. The film stars Vishal, Anjali and Varalakshmi in the lead and was to have been the first release from the house of VFF. Let us hope that the matter is resolved at the earliest, to make way for the comedy caper.
