Anjana Padmanabhan from Bangalore is the first winner of the singing reality show Indian Idol Junior. "Although we were competing against each other, we were like a family filled with unique characters and had our moments of joy and sorrow. I am thrilled," Anjana said in a statement in Mumbai on Sunday. Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan was there to crown her as the winner. Anjana received a prize money of Rs. 25 lakh from Sony Entertainment Television, a Nissan Micra Car, a fixed deposit of Rs. 5 lakhs from Kotak and Rs. 2 lakh from Horlicks. The singing reality show Indian Idol Junior concluded with Anjana Padmanabhan emerging as winner of its first season. "
All I can say is a big heartfelt thank you for liking me and helping me achieve my dream," she said. Debanjana Mitra, Anmol Jaswal and Nirvesh Dave secured the first and the second runners-up positions respectively. The show had started with 86 contestants from across India and after three months of competition and millions of votes, Anjana was named the show's first winner. Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor and Ramcharan too performed during the final episode.
