However, if sources are to be believed, according to Ranbir Kapoor’s original plans Katrina Kaif could have been his lady love in he movie. According to zoOm Ranbir Kapoor had strongly recommended Katrina Kaif for this movie – As he was not sure about casting a newcomer in this ambitious project. But despite Ranbir’s reservations director Abhinav Kashyap found his female protagonist in Pallavi and stuck to his decision. Insiders also suggest that director Abhinav Kashyap and Pallavi are more than ‘just good friends’.

And this is a sign that Kashyap wants to take his relationship to the next level. Ranbir later had to give in to the wishes of Abhinav. Looks like despite their best efforts to be cast together, it might still be a while before the Ajab Ghazab couple gets to romance each other in a movie.
