Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa has joined Bollywood as it launched the sequel, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai Dobara, with a special five-course menu that will be served by the Sultanah restaurant on September 15. The film is partly shot at the resort and shows prominent areas such as the Al Husn Courtyard, the Al Bandar lobby and the Shahrazad restaurant. The Al Husn Hotel was home to the lead actors and actresses during the filming in the hotel and in Muscat. To celebrate the release of the film, the resort's culinary team has put together a special menu. This Indian-fusion menu is a welcome innovation for guests who crave for spicy food and the distinct taste of south-western cuisine. Guests have been invited to dine like Bollywood stars and savour the five-course set menu that includes tandoori prawns with mint and yogurt sauce, tomato shorba with sautéed squid, tawa hammour with tangy vegetables and coconut sauce, Indian-spiced rubbed lamb loin with potato bharta and cashew nut sauce wrapped with kesar pista kulfi and mixed berry coulis.
"This menu is specially designed for Indian food lovers who are enthusiastic about Indian cuisine and yearn for distinct dishes. The starter, second and third courses are served in elegant portions that are not filling but rich in spices and taste. Having three small portions will allow the guest to indulge in a perfectly spiced lamb loin and end the stimulating meal with kesar pista kulfi. Sultanah restaurant has always served French cuisine and continental food. "This menu will be a welcome innovation for our guests who would surely enjoy the diverse taste of Indian cuisine," said Marc Cibrowius, the executive chef at Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa, Sultanate of Oman.
