The critically acclaimed filmmaker Prakash Jha has been facing some unusual situations these days. A person, deceiving his film’s prospective audience as his son, collected money by organising an event on August 14 to promote Satyagraha. An annoyed Jha has been compelled to lodge police complaints in Kolkata and Patna against the fraud. The deceiver announced that he would arrange an event in a five-star hotel in the West Bengal capital and also claimed that the event will be attended by Satyagraha stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Manoj Bajpai, Kareena Kapoor and director Jha too. According to the sources close to Jha’s production house the imposter also took in some sponsors for the event. Jha clarified over phone that he has no son and the person is simply cheating his audience. He added, "I have asked my officials to lodge police complaints in Kolkata as well in Patna.”Sources confirmed that police complaints have already been filed at Bhawanipur police station in Kolkata and at Shri Krishnapuri police station in Patna.
As per the complaint lodged in the Kolkata police station, the imposter has been identified as Presenjit Jha who organised the event on August 14. Sources further added, “But, due to timely intervention the fraud was detected and everybody warned of the cheating and the so-called event was cancelled on August 14.” Prakash Jha has only one daughter and no son, sources confirmed in Mumbai. They added that the cheat also made false claims that Jha has been planning to prepone the release date of Satyagraha due to his mother’s illness. But as facts reveal, Jha’s mother is no more in this world since last two decades. The fraud also managed to use letterheads with Jha’s TV channel Maurya TV’s name and set up funds and sponsorships. A resentful Jha added "in fact the person has also hired a PR agency and has been picking up funds in my name. It is a case of harming my reputation."
