Reports are doing rounds that Bollywood classic Sholay’s 3D version is getting ready to release on megastar Amitabh Bachchan`s 71st birthday which falls on October 11. The movie portraying the eternal bond of friendship is said to be beautifully recreated in 3D.Jai and Veeru, played by Amitabh and Dharmendra, have been ideal characters in the history of Indian cinema. A source stated, "The date was specifically chosen as it coincides with Bachchan`s big day. He is the biggest star we have today and what better day to release the film.” 

 

Sholay 3D will be distributed by producer Jayantilal Gada. Ramesh Sippy’s original Sholay also featured Sanjeev Kumar as Thakur Baldev Singh, Hema Malini as Basanti, Jaya Bachchan as widow Radha and Amjad Khan as baddie Gabbar Singh.
