Rakeysh Mehra ropes in Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy again for Mirza Sahiba

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy are back in the thick of things. Though during last couple of years they haven't been as prolific as before, their association with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra on Bhaag Milkha Bhaag has worked for the composer trio. For Mehra's most ambitious film till date, Mirza Sahiba, they have been roped in as the composers. "They really bonded with Mehra during the making of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag," informs a source, "The filmmaker wanted complete dedication from all involved into making of this bipoic and was highly impressed with the compositions that Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy came up with. It was a difficult soundtrack to be put together as the music was entirely situational. Soon enough, Mehra was sure that it would be Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and no one else for his romantic action affair set in the contemporary times." This is pretty much an association that has made heads turn since for his two previous films, Delhi 6 and Rang De Basanti, he had paired up with A.R. Rahman. "Apparently, it was Rahman who was on Mehra's wish-list for Bhaag Milkha Bhaag as well. However, the composer's busy schedule meant that the filmmaker had to open up his choices. In came Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and now the very fact that they are the immediate choice for Mehra says volumes about the tuning that the team has managed to build," the source.

Incidentally the lyricist here won't be Prasoon Joshi, with whom Mehra collaborated in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Delhi 6 and Rang De Basanti. Instead, he would be reuniting with Gulzar, who had written songs for his debut feature film Aks. "Both the film as well as songs of Mirza Sahiba are being written by Gulzar saab. As for the music, it is being done by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy." confirms Mehra, "There is a lot of work required on the songs of Mirza Sahiba since it is a musical." While Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan is the leading man in the film, hunt is still on for the heroine.
