Bollywood beckons another beauty queen as Miss India finalist Tahira Kochlar makes her debut in Rabba Main Kya Karoon

Come Friday, and yet another ex-beauty queen is all set to make her debut in Bollywood. Tahira Kochhar, 2010 Miss India finalist, takes to the big screen - although without the hoopla one normally associates with beauty queen debuts. Tahira makes her debut with Rabba Main Kya Karoon, opposite newbie Akash Chopra, grandson of yesteryear film-maker, the late Ramanand Sagar. The romantic comedy is shot mainly in prominent locations of Delhi and talks about love and cheating amidst a typically lavish Punjabi wedding. Tahira, who has had a brief stint as a model, admits facing the camera as an actress is vastly different from modelling. "Modelling and acting are very different. Modelling easy as you can be detached from the job. While acting you need to indulge yourself into the character. That is tough," she said. She says she always found acting an "interesting profession" while watching films as a viewer before she became an actress.

"Acting seemed so easy then, as a viewer," she said.  With Paresh Rawal and Arshad Warsi being part of the cast, Rabba Main Kya Karoon promises ample comedy. Tinu Anand and Shakti Kapoor play prominent roles in the film, too. "Paresh Rawal and Arshad make the film strong," said Tahira. The film is directed by Akash's brother Amrit Sagar Chopra whose 2007 feature, 1971, won the National Award. The film opens in a week with no major release. However, it is a crowded Friday at the cineplexes with several small films battling it out, including B.A. Pass, Prague, Chor Chor Super Chor and Calapor.
