Looks like Dhanush's smash hit Bollywood debut Raanjhanaa might not get to see the theatres in Pakistan. The movie went through another round of censoring in Pakistan, as is the practice with Bollywood movies, and the conservative Pakistan culture ministry denied permission for Raanjhanaa to be screened in the country. The producers have been informed of the decision taken after the officials watched the movie.
The Hindu - Muslim romance that is at the heart of the movie has doomed the prospects of the movie in a country where Hindus are a minority. Earlier, Pakistan's finance minister proposed an additional 'adjustable withholding tax' to be levied on all foreign films that is mainly targeted at Bollywood films and Hindi television serials.
