Bachchan’s shooting schedule seems set in a way that he will have wrapped up filming all the 56 episodes this season, that lasts 14 weeks, including the grand finale by the last leg of October, just in time for his grandkid’s arrival in November.
Amitabh KBCBachchan, following in his father Harivansh Rai Bachchan’s footsteps, made the big announcement last month on his account on the microblogging site, Twitter. The late poet, in keeping with family tradition, was the first one to let the world know that his daughter-in-law Jaya Bachchan was pregnant.
Bachchan’s daughter-in-law, former Miss World and actor, Aishwarya, had reportedly completed the first trimester at the time when the news was made official. Son, actor-producer Abhishek, had then confirmed that his would be a November baby, although their doctor hadn’t set a date yet.
When asked if he had planned his shooting schedule keeping his grandchild’s arrival in mind, Bachchan, asserts, “I wouldn’t like to go into too many details here. The show will last on air a little longer than three months.
But yes, I will be wrapping up the shoot in October, hopefully. The schedule has been designed very well.
It leaves me with a lot of breathing space and I should be home to be with my grandchild in November. But at the same time, if there are technical issues, and I’m required to shoot for a couple of days, I wouldn’t hesitate.”
Abhishek AishwaryaOccasionally, broadcasters are known to increase the number of episodes, following a show’s popularity. Could that happen to KBC 5 too? “No!” insists Bachchan. “It’s a limited show with 90-minute capsules.
And I’ve been signed on for a particular number of episodes only. I’m hoping the show will become popular, but that doesn’t mean we’ll shoot more than we’ve agreed to.”
