Tamil filmmaker Susi Ganeshan has entered Bollywood with Shortut Romeo, which released alongside actor Dhanush's Hindi film debut Raanjhanaa last Friday (June 21) . But the former says it was an unintended clash. "I never intended to pitch against Dhanush because I like him and his father is very well-known to me. Basically, we were already on June 21 and they were on June 28. Suddenly, they shifted to June 21. It's not like we intended to fight against each other," the director told at a special screening of his film.
Shortcut Romeo is a remake of Ganesh's own Tamil film Thiruttu Payale. He admits the Hindi version is bigger and better than the Tamil original, and he hopes it is received well. "It's a beautiful entertainment-based film with a strong message. It worked in a big way in south. In fact, it was like a dark horse. No one expected that kind of success at that time.
