Anand L Rai, director of Raanjhanaa, when asked why he didn’t cast Kagana Ranaut – the heroine of his first film Tanu Weds Manu – in his second, said that he didn’t see her playing the role of Zoya. But there was no animosity, we are told. On the contrary, the director revealed that when he was in a quandary on who to cast, Kangy was sitting right next to him and suggested a couple of names.
The leggy lass took great interest in solving Anand’s dilemma. The director is glad that he found a friend in KR – his sweet li’l’ anecdote obviously defied the cliche that a heroine can’t stand any other gal’s progress in the big bad industry called Bollywood.
