The Prakash Jha’s movie Aarakshan starring Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone , release has been stayed by Madras High Court in August 8. Aarakshan movie is based on the issue of caste-based reservation in the education system, which has been already in the thick of controversies because of its topical subject. Now, there’s more legal hassle for the director and producers to contend with.
Justice Periyakaruppiah of the HC, granted the stay on the film after hearing the plea.Madhu Gupta and CG Photo Ltd which is associated with the film have approached the Madras High Court and filed a civil suit for the non payment of their dues worth Rs. 3.75 crores. The film Aarakshan is due for release on before Friday.So director Prakash Jha is like to sort out the matter as early as possible.
