Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala, who has won the hearts of the audiences with her performance in films like '1942: A Love Story', has finally won her battle against cancer after undergoing six months of treatment in the United States. Releasing a statement on social networking site Facebook, the actress said she is cancer free now.

"I burst out crying when I heard 'cancer free' I still have a long way to go in regaining my health, slowly and steadily.. With your prayers and blessings I received during this phase I am sure that day too will come!!," the actress wrote. Koirala was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year after which she went to New York for her treatment. She also thanked her fans for their supports that helped her fight the life killing disease and take a rebirth.

"In gratitude for the compassion I saw,felt by so many.. my old and new friends,my family, my cancer club members who inspired me with their spirit, my ammabhagwan n oneness family n you all my fb (Facebook) n twitters friends its your unyielding love that helped me!! I call this as my "rebirth" ..."Recognised for her acting prowess, Koirala was noted for her performances in films such as 'Bombay', 'Akele Hum Akele Tum' (both 1995), 'Khamoshi: The Musical' (1996), 'Dil Se..' (1998), and 'Company' (2002).
