After “Raanjhanaa“, Anand L. Rai’s next film will be the “Tanu Weds Manu” sequel. Although he isn’t sure when it would go on the floors, he has confirmed he will prepare the romantic-comedy for a 2014 release. “The next one will be the sequel (of ‘Tanu Weds Manu‘), but I don’t know when will I start. Right now I am enjoying ‘Raanjhanaa’,” he told IANS in a group interview. “Tanu Weds Manu” was the love story of an NRI, played by R. Madhavan, and a feisty girl from Uttar Pradesh, essayed by Kangna Ranaut.
“The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ sequel will also be a love story. I will be releasing it next year,” said the director and added: “I will do the sequel for sure. The same pair will be there.”On being asked why such a long gap between the two films, he explained: “On creative front, when I wanted to tell the story of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, I did that…but after that, even though I had a story, I wanted to do ‘Raanjahnaa’.”
