The actor hasn’t got a great response for his last couple of releases outside Vishesh Films….does he now need family to prop him up? Emraan Hashmi has been a big box office draw for the last couple years. His films with the Bhatts, including Jannat, Raaz 3 and Murder 2, have done consistently well at the BO. Encouraged by the response he got for his roles in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and The Dirty Picture, the actor went ahead and signed several movies outside the Bhatt camp.
But his last two projects – Shanghai and Ek Thi Daayan – didn’t exactly ring bells at the box office. So when we heard that the actor was all set to get back with the Bhatts for his next, we were not surprised at all. According to reports, Emraan will star in Vishesh Films’ next production to be directed by Vikram Bhatt. The shooting for the movie will start in 2014 and Emraan has already allotted dates for the film. The movie won’t be a sequel and Emraan is quite interested in the fresh script.
In fact, Mahesh Bhatt was quite upfront in a recent interview when he said, “He did Ek Thi Daayan and Shanghai which weren’t commercial money spinners, so now he’s back with us.” There were talks of a rift between Emi and the Bhatts after he refused to do Murder 3 saying that he was no longer interested in the franchise. Guess Emraan now realises that he cannot leave the lucky Bhatt card out of his game just yet. After all, subah ka bhoola agar shaam ko laut kar aye to use bhoola nahin kehte!
