Their well known rivalry is going to get bitter and bitter in the days to come. Rumors suggest that Shah Rukh Khan is going to replace Salman Khan in Bigg Boss 7, this year’s season, one of the most successful reality shows in the country. Salman Khan is the person who has made the reality show such a mammoth success and his fans are going to be very disappointed if he is not the part of the late night reality show. With his hundreds of millions of fans who make every Sallu film a super hit, their known hatred towards Shah Rukh Khan because of the animosity Sallu has towards him, there are fears that these fans who made the reality show a success giving it the highest TRP of any reality show may become a dud. Salman Khan right now is the biggest name in India’s film industry
Neither Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar or for that matter any other actor can claim to be as successful as him, at least in the last three years. His every film turns out to be huge success irrespective of the fact that when it is launched and always makes at least Rs 150 crore box office collection. But rumors are doing the rounds that Salman may not be part of the Bigg Boss 7. It may be recalled that the last three seasons were being hosted by Salman Khan and the high TRPs of the show were being attributed to the star charisma of the Bollywood’s ‘Golden Boy’. The new and upcoming season of popular television reality show Bigg Boss will be called ‘Saat Saat Sath Sath’. The sixth season, which was called ‘Alag Che’, saw TV actress Urvashi Dholakia emerge as the winner.
Bigg Boss the Indianized version of the UK’s ‘Big Brother’ made its debut on the Indian television in the year 2006 and since then it has been an annual feature. The reality show series has seen a number of hosts including Arshad Warsi, Shilpa Shetty and Amitabh Bachchan before Salman Khan held it reins from fourth season onwards in 2010. The fifth season saw actor Sanjay Dutt as a co-host. But according to the reports the TRP’s fell miserable every time Salman failed to make an appearance. There are several reasons being given for his lack of interest in Bigg Boss 7 this year. with the Dabangg Khan busy in shooting for his home production ‘Mental’, scheduled for an early 2014 release along with his medical condition of suffering from a rare nerve disorder, it is being believed that he has forgone the reality show this time.
Due to the frequent court appearances in the hit and run case and the black buck poaching case, the shooting schedule of Mental has been thrown out of gear. It is being said that Salman is either postponing or rejecting several offers that are coming his way. At present the Khan is solely concentrating on his home production. So his nemesis in the filmdom seems an obvious choice for Bigg Boss. With the strong reports of the seventh season being hosted by Shahrukh Khan, who is famous for his wit and capability of charming the audience, once again the question has been raised as to who would be the better host among the two warring stars.
However it is not for the first time that the King Khan has forayed into the small screen as a show’s host. Shahrukh made his debut as a small screen host in 2007 when he replaced replaced Amitabh Bachchan as the host of the third season of the game show Kaun Banega Crorepati, popularly known as KBC, the Indian version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Later in an interview, Shahrukh had confessed that he declined to host the fourth season of the show as the Big B had wished to continue as host. As a host of KBC 3, Shahrukh won the best anchor at various awards ceremonies including The Global Indian Film and Television Honors and Indian Telly Awards. Besides, Shah Rukh Khan has hosted many other shows.
Khan, also hosted the debut show game show Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?, the Indian version of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? It is rumored that the producer of the show Siddhartha Basu’s Big Synergy is going all out to woo the King Khan as a host for the second edition of the show that is all set to hit the screen in coming months. Shahrukh’s last reality show as a host was Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout, inspired from the American game show Wipeout, on Imagine TV. Even though the show failed to make an impact and was taken off air after 15 episodes, Shahrukh earned applause from the critics for his humorous narration during the game. So the animosity is going to intensify in the days to come.
