Earlier we had reported that the Amitabh Bachchan starrer The Great Gatsby would be the opening film at this year's Cannes film festival, while another superstar Rajinikanth would be launching the trailer of his film Kochadaiyaan at the fest. Close on their heels, we now learn that director Susi Ganesh will be premiering his film Shortcut Romeo at the international festival as well. Shortcut Romeo, which has Neil Nitin Mukesh, Ameesha Patel and Puja Gupta, will be screened at the French Riviera on May 22.

The movie which is a remake of the director's own superhit Tamil film, Thiruttu Payalae, features music by Himesh Reshammiya, while the story follows life of a filthy rich housewife, having an extra-marital relationship to keep herself busy, and who will go to any lengths to hide her affair from her husband. While Neil plays a young, ambitious and immoral man, who even stoops to the level of blackmailing the lady to support his expensive tastes, Puja plays a victim caught in the crossfire. Shortcut Romeo, produced by Susi Ganesh Productions, releases June 21.
