Dibakar Banerjee has always surprised his fans with his films. The director talks to TOI about his short film in Bombay Talkies and his star Ranbir Kapoor. On being asked about Bombay Talkies, Dibakar said, "It's a failure's last chance to success and how that success is different kind of success and end of the day." When asked about Ranbir as an actor, Dibakar expressed, "Ranbir has a very special role in Bombay Talkies and he is there all over the film in shadow and his character, his presence is there."

Dibakar is all praises for the Kapoor lad and sees a caliber in the actor which can take the industry to another level. "After a long time we have a star, who is an actor. I hope Indian films and Indian directors are enriched and get on to next level." "When it comes to Ranbir, we have star whom people want to see and there are stars who can support big budget films. We have a star, who can act and he can go truly high. In fact, the film industry can go high with his kind of films provided he doesn't fall prey in the same old trap of juvenile Nazism that he keep falling into," concluded the director.
