Salman Khan is gaining new fans and followers. While his dream project ‘Being Human’, something that he lives and breathes, is already taking gigantic proportions, it’s his work in charity which is attracting comparisons with none other than George Clooney. “Out here in India, not many are aware that George Clooney raises millions of dollars every year for charity. He does it in a selfless manner without making much noise. He has quite a few projects running globally.
Now Salman too has a similar vision. He is not making a big deal about things that does under ‘Being Human’ but he is reaching there, albeit quietly,” says a source. Meanwhile, with ‘Being Human’ also finding another stream in movies as ‘Salman Khan Being Human [SKBH] Productions’, there is added visibility expected globally. More so since the film with which the production house is tying up is an international project ‘Dr. Cabbie’.
Says an industry source, “To be associated with Salman would be an honour in itself for anyone. After all, Salman’s heart is all for people even though he doesn’t make big deal about it. He does charity without letting anyone know. Stories about the kind of medical camps that he runs in India as well as initiatives for the uplifting of poor are amazing. There are very few celebrities globally who do that. Just like Clooney, Salman has made the entire virtue of ‘giving’ really cool. Wish there were a more like him.”
A production of FirstTake Entertainment and Caramel Films, ‘Dr. Cabbie’ is presented by Salman Khan Being Human [SKBH] Productions and distributed in Indian Sub-Continent by Eros International. The film is being directed by one of Canada’s most acclaimed Directors’, Jean-Francois Poulliot. Other than Vinay Virmani, the film also stars Adrianne Palicki, Kunal Nayyar and Lillete Dubey in principle roles and launches newcomer Isabelle. The film is currently being shot in Canada.
