After tasting success with Rowdy Rathore, the team of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Akshay Kumar is back, with yet another south film remake, titled Gabbar. Though SLB may currently be busy wrapping up the shoot of the Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone starrer Ram Leela, he will soon move on to producing the remake of the 2002 Tamil film Ramana.
Titled Gabbar, with Akshay in the lead role, the film highlights the fight against corruption, and will mark South director Krish's (of Gamyam, 2008, and Vedam, 2010 fame) Bollywood debut. While the official rights of the film have already been acquired, the makers will soon announce the leading lady. Though for now, they say that it will be an unlikely pairing and something the audiences are going to be excited about. Gabbar which is slated to go on floor this year will be co-produced by SLB's close friend Shabina Khan, who was his partner in Rowdy Rathore too.
