Prachi Desai, who opted out of Vikram Bhatt's third instalment of the 1920 franchise, citing date issues, has been replaced by Meera, a cousin of Priyanka Chopra. Meera has done quite a few films down South. The film, set to go on floors in May, is co-written by Vikram and a debutant Sukhmani Sadana and will be directed by debutant Tinu Suresh Desai. Said a source:

"Prachi had gone through various sessions with the debutant director as well. However, she was also shooting for Police Giri with Sanjay Dutt--the schedule of which got messed up due to the SC verdict." Prachi opted out of the film and the search for a replacement began. Vikram Bhatt confirmed the story and said, "Meera has a subtle sensuality and is good actor too."
