Come Eid, and it’s going to be a clash of the titans at the box office. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer, Chennai Express, and the Akshay Kumar-Imran Khan starrer, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again, are both set to release on August 8. There have already been reports of professional rivalry. And now it seems like things are getting more intense, with both lead actors — Shah Rukh and Akshay — working overtime to wrap up their films. “Akshay and the unit (of Once Upon…) have been shooting at nights.
They’ve also been dubbing throughout the day to make up for lost time. This way, once the shoot is finished, the film can straightaway go into post-production,” reveals a source close to Akshay. Meanwhile, an insider from the CE unit says, “The team has just wrapped up a long schedule in Wai (in Maharashtra). To save time, SRK conducted all his business meetings on location. Now, they have taken off to Munnar without taking a break between the schedules. Shah Rukh has also not taken up any other projects.
” SRK’s spokesperson confirms the news, adding that “SRK always works very hard for every film he is part of”. The source adds that “to wrap up the ad assignments SRK has already signed, he has been taking a few hours off from his schedule to finish them at night”. The only other thing keeping Shah Rukh busy is the on-going T20 tournament. But we’ve already seen him skip a few of his team’s matches. Akshay, meanwhile, according to a source, “has put all other work on hold. Right now, Once Upon… is of utmost importance. All his public appearances, except for a few promotions for the film, have been restricted.”
