Salman Khan’s Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) team, Mumbai Heroes, may have performed dismally in both the seasons of the tournament, but that hasn’t dampened the players’ spirits. Now, in a one-of-its-kind event, the actor’s star-studded brigade will play a friendly match against a team comprising Members of Parliament. Called MP 11, this team will include young guns such as Sachin Pilot, Milind Deora, Dushyant Singh, as well as those with professional cricketing experience, like Mohd Azharuddin, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Kirti Azad.
The game will be held on April 27 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. The match will be a unique event where MPs that belong to different political parties will be seen putting a united front, that too against a team comprising Bollywood actors. umbai Heroes comprises Sohail Khan, Suniel Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani and Bobby Deol, among others. Although Salman is usually present during a Mumbai Heroes games, he might not be able to make it to this match.
“He is trying his best to come and cheer for his team but we aren’t sure if he will be present,” says an insider close to the actor. However, Sohail, who co-owns the team with producer Vikas Kapoor, couldn’t be happier about the upcoming event. It’s always a pleasure to play cricket when we get a chance. Playing with the MP 11 will be very exciting and we are looking forward to a good game.”
