Mumbai school guards foil man's attempt to abduct Sajid Nadiadwala's kids

Security guards at  Ecole Mondiale World School here on Tuesday foiled a man's attempt to kidnap two kids of Bollywood film maker Sajid Nadiadwala, by posing as an employee sent by their mother to collect the children. The man came to the school to collect the kids, aged 5 and 9 years, saying that he had been sent by Sajid's wife Wardha to collect them from the school. The security guards asked him to ring up Wardha in their presence to confirm whether she had indeed sent him or not. The man didn't make a call, and left the spot after 15 minutes.

The cctv description of the man is now with police. Though the Nadiadwalas did not speak to the media, a source said: "There could be a connection between the kidnap attempt and those involved in a robbery at Nadiadwala's house in 2009." The source added that a security guard working with the Nadiadwalas had robbed Rs 8 lakh in cash and Rs 40 lakh in gold at gunpoint. Nadiadwala and his wife were returning from a party in the early hours when their security guard and his accomplices threatened them with firearms and looted their house.

"The crime branch arrested all the accused in the case," the source said, adding, "There has been pressure on Nadiadwala to go soft in the case and not be a witness against the accused." Police said, the suspect knew the names of the kids and their parents. Police protection has been given to the family of Nadiadwala, who has produced films like Housefull, Housefull 2, Judwaa, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega. Children of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar also study in the same school, says the media report.
