No production plans: Abhay Deol

Actor Abhay Deol could very well be the poster boy for unconventional heroes. The actor, who is currently in the interiors of Madhya Pradesh for filmmaker Prakash Jha’s Chakravyuh is apparently shooting under extremely difficult conditions. Abhay has been shooting for quite some time in the interiors of Bhopal in a remote place called Panchmurhi.

The actor, much to everyone’s delight, has been extremely accommodating and adjusting, considering that the film has to wrap up in the scheduled time. A couple of days ago, the shoot happened to shift to a more remote area, and Abhay, being the thorough professional that he is, is shooting without complaining. To add to it, the place apparently has no electricity for the entire day. On a few days there is just barely two hours of electricity a day.

Amidst this hectic shooting schedule, he is also awaiting the release of his next film Shanghai. The actor has been extremely co-operative because he has to apparently be back in the city to promote his film with actor Emraan Hashmi. Abhay who plays a South Indian character in the film, had to work hard on his accent to get it right, something the actor enjoyed immensely. “I really like pushing my boundaries and playing parts that I haven’t earlier. I don’t like getting stereotyped. Also films and preparing for them is not so much about acting as it is about discovering yourself,” he says.

Besides Shanghai, when we ask him about his production plans, the actor shrugs it off. Basra which was being made under his production house titled, Forbidden Films has apparently been shelved due to a major financial crisis, something the actor refuses to deny or confirm. “As of now, I am only looking forward to my films. I have no production plans,” Abhay says.
